On November 14, 2013 the Embassy of Ukraine to Hungary together with the Institute for International and Regional Studies of the University of Szeged and the EU Information Centre „Europe Direct Szeged” organized a round-table discussion “European aspirations of Ukraine”.
The event was attended by the Hungarian officials, political, academic and society activists, media representatives as well as students of the University of Szeged.
The round-table discussion was moderated by the President of the Constitutional Court of Hungary, Honorary Chair of the Venice Commission Mr. Péter Paczolay.
The participants of the event exchanged views on current issues and prospects for further development of the Ukraine-EU relations as well as on the steps taken by the Ukrainian leadership in order to ensure the conclusion of the Ukraine – EU Association Agreement, including deep and comprehensive free trade area, at the Vilnius Eastern Partnership Summit.
In his speech at the opening of the round-table discussion the Ambassador of Ukraine to Hungary Mr. Yurii Mushka strengthened the European integration choice of Ukraine, highlighted the efforts made by the Ukrainian government in order to fulfill the EU’s conditions as well as outlined prospects for further development of the domestic and foreign policy of Ukraine.
