On September 19, 2013 the Embassy of Ukraine to Hungary together with the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs organized a round-table discussion “The Vilnius Summit and Ukraine: what next?”.
The event was attended by the officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, political, academic and society activists, leadership of the Ukrainian Self-Government of Hungary, media and diplomatic corps representatives as well as members of the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs and diplomats of the Embassy of Ukraine to Hungary.
The participants of the round-table exchanged views on current issues and prospects for further development of Ukrainian foreign policy and Ukraine-EU relations in the context of the upcoming Vilnius Eastern Partnership Summit. Special attention was paid to issues of energy security of Ukraine.
In his speech at the opening of the round-table discussion the Ambassador of Ukraine to Hungary Yurii Mushka strengthened the European integration choice of Ukraine, highlighted the steps taken by the Ukrainian government in order to sign the Ukraine – EU Association Agreement, including deep and comprehensive free trade area, as well as outlined prospects for further development of the domestic and foreign policy of Ukraine after the conclusion of this document.
