Chargé d’ Affaires of Ukraine in Hungary Mykhailo Yunger took part in the international conference "Preventing new Cold War. Ukrainian crisis as a turning point in relations between NATO and Russia", held on December 2-3, 2014 in Budapest by the Hungarian Centre for Security and Defence Studies with financial support of NATO. The challenges the NATO and the whole international community is facing in connection with Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine were discussed at the event.
Mr. Yunger highlighted in his speech the current situation in Ukraine, especially in light of Russia’s military aggression; outlined the losses Ukraine suffered from the annexation of Crimea and Russia’s aggression in eastern regions of our country; highlighted in detail the position of the President and the Government of Ukraine on approaches to national security; stressed the priority of the European integration for our country; explained the reasons for the cancellation of the non-bloc status of Ukraine; stressed the importance of further joint efforts of international community in order to stop the aggressor; encouraged to continue sanctions against Russia; stressed Ukraine's interest in resolving the situation and highlighted the respective requirements of the Ukrainian side.
