On October 28-29, 2013 the delegation of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine paid a visit to Hungary.

Within the visit the Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Mr. Mykola Lytvyn held talks with the Deputy Chief of the Hungarian National Police Mr. Zsolt Halmosi. During the meeting the sides discussed cooperation and coordination of joint efforts to ensure security of the Ukrainian - Hungarian border in 2013-2014. In the interest of sharing experiences it was agreed to introduce joint patrols of the State Border Service of Ukraine and the National Police of Hungary on the common border.

Special attention during the talks was paid to the improvement of cooperation on border-crossing of persons and vehicles, mutual exchange of information and practices on common threat assessment on the Ukrainian - Hungarian border, development of cooperation of the operational and investigative units, fulfillment of tasks according to bilateral Agreement on Readmission as well as the introduction of language courses for cadets and lecturers of departmental educational institutions.
