On October 8-10, 2013 Head of the Agency of Water Resources of Ukraine Vasyl Stashuk attended the Budapest Water Summit with the motto “Give the Future a chance!”. Within the Summit Vasyl Stashuk gave a speech on the Ukrainian-Hungarian cooperation on flood prevention in the Tysa River basin.

During his visit to Hungary Vasyl Stashuk met with Secretary of State of the Ministry of Environment of Finland Katariina Poskiparta as well as with Hungarian Government Commissioner for the EU Danube Strategy Balázs Medgyesy. During the meetings topics of the legislative provision for international cooperation on the issue of water management and prospects of implementation the Ukrainian-Hungarian joint projects were discussed.
