The Embassy of Ukraine to Hungary continued the series of events dedicated to the celebration of Days of Ukrainian Culture in Hungary
On 23rd of February 2013, the Embassy of Ukraine to Hungary together with the self-government of Hungarian Ukrainians continued to hold festive events on the occasion of celebration of the Days of Ukrainian Culture in Hungary.
The events started at the memorial plaque, dedicated to publication in Ukrainian language of the first literary almanac “Rusalka Dnistrovaja”, which has been installed on the wall of the former Royal printing house of Hungary in Budapest. The members of the Embassy and Ukrainian diaspora have laid wreaths and flowers to the memorial plaque in the presence of media representatives.
The event continued in Atany town, where Ambassador of Ukraine Yurii Mushka has initiated the month long events of celebrating of Ukrainian culture in Hungary. During the opening ceremony, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Hungary Yurii Mushka underlined the importance of development of Ukrainian-Hungarian relations in cultural sphere and expressed gratitude to the leadership of the town for the support provided in organizing the events.
Following that, the festive concert by M.Lysenko Lviv National Music Academy musicians was held, during which Trio Bandura players performed Ukrainian folk songs.
After the concert, the ethnographic exhibition of Karpathian museum of National architecture and culture as well as of ethnographical collection of the Ukrainian cultural centre and documentation and Embassy of Ukraine were opened.
The event was concluded by a reception.
During the visit to Atany town, the Ambassador of Ukraine also held consultations with the leadership of the town. The sides discussed the possibilities of intensification of economic and cultural relations between the regions of Ukraine and Hungary.
