In the framework of the working visit to Maastricht, President of Ukraine had a meeting with Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán.
The parties shared views on a wide range of bilateral issues and agreed to intensify political dialogue at all levels. The Head of State expressed gratitude to the Government of Hungary for the provision of humanitarian aid for Ukraine in the amount of USD 3.6 million and treatment of Ukrainian servicemen wounded in the ATO area.
President Petro Poroshenko highly appreciated Hungary’s support in the introduction of the visa-free regime between Ukraine and the EU and prompt ratification of the Association Agreement.
In the context of settlement of conflict in Donbas, the parties discussed prospects of continuation of economic sanctions against Russia as an efficient instrument aimed at ensuring full implementation of the Minsk agreements and restoration of territorial integrity and Ukrainian sovereignty over the occupied territories.
Special attention was paid to the enhancement of regional cooperation in the format “Visegrad Group + 1”.
