Within the framework of the events, dedicated to the celebration in Hungary of the 201^st anniversary of birth of Taras Shevchenko, a wreath-laying ceremony to the monument of Taras Shevchenko and a holy liturgy to commemorate the Great Kobzar were held in Budapest.  

The event was attended by the representatives of the local governments of Hungary and a number of Hungarian NGOs, leadership and representatives of the Ukrainian community in Hungary, as well as staff of the Embassy of Ukraine to Hungary, Consulate of Ukraine in Nyiregyhaza, Honorary Consulate of Ukraine in Szeged and the Honorary Consulate of Hungary in Ivano-Frankivsk.
