On August 29, 2014 the negotiations between the Deputy Minister for Culture of Ukraine Oleksandr Zhuravchak and the State Secretary for Culture of the Ministry of Human Recourses of Hungary dr. Péter Hoppál, as well as the celebration of the 23rd anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine was held in the Hungarian town of Szarvas (Central Hungary).

The sides have agreed to hold in October, 2014 in Kyiv bilateral negotiations on the Action plan between the respective Hungarian and Ukrainian Ministries for the following three years.

Oleksandr Zhuravchak and dr. Péter Hoppál also attended the play Pontius Pilatus (based on The Master and Margerita by Mikhail Bulgakov) presented by the Mykola Kulish Theatre from the Ukrainian city of Kherson.
