On April 10, 2014 Danylo Lubkivsky, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine met with János Martonyi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Hungary within the framework of his visit to Hungary.
The sides discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation and the Ukraine-EU agenda. Mr. Martonyi expressed unconditional support for European aspirations of Ukraine, its sovereignty and territorial integrity as well as EU visa-free regime for citizens of Ukraine.
During the following consultations of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Danylo Lubkivsky with Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Hungary Szabolcs Takách they exchanged opinions on bilateral political dialogue, trade and economic relations, energy security, cross-border cooperation, minority rights, cooperation between the two states within the framework of international and regional organizations as well as cooperation between Ukraine and the countries of the Visegrad Group.
The sides strongly condemned irresponsible comments of some Hungarian politicians who questioned the territorial integrity of Ukraine, in particular statement of a Hungarian radical far-right “Jobbik” party representative, declared during the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on April 9. Mr. Lubkivsky emphasized the unacceptability of such statements and the right of Ukraine to take appropriate measures against their authors.
