The most active regional cooperation, due to its geographical location, is observed between the border regions of Ukraine and Hungary: the Transcarpathian region of Ukraine and the Sabolch-Satmar-Bereg region of Hunagry. Thus, in recent years in the Transcarpathian region a number of projects have been implemented on energy saving, current and capital repairs of social institutions, in particular schools, pre-school educational institutions, health care and culture.
In September 2013, an agreement on partnership between Dnipropetrovsk and the city of Szolnok was signed, in August 2015 a memorandum of friendship was signed between the Dnipropetrovsk region and the Yas-Nagykun-Solnok area.
In November 2016, within the framework of the Ukrainian-Hungarian Business Forum with the participation of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman, a number of agreements were signed that contributed to further deepening of bilateral interregional cooperation, among them:
- Agreement on cooperation between the cities of Kharkiv and Debrecen;
- Agreement on cooperation between Uzhgorod City Council and the city of regional significance Debrecen.
Established contacts of the Ukrainian-Hungarian Business Club with regional associations of businessmen of Ukraine, first of all with representatives of Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Zakarpattia, Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk and Sumy regions.
In April 2018, the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry appointed Zoltan Horvat as its representative in Hungary, and since November 2018 he has also been appointed the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in the city of Siofok.
